Dinner conversation:

Life in a Nutshell
DS#2: (as he scoops the rice out of the pot) I don't like all this brown stuff Mom puts at the bottom....why does Mom put it in there?

DH: Mom doesn't know how to make rice without the brown stuff.

DS#2: Where does she get it?

DH: She buys it special at the store...

Me: Futon looking mighty comfy to you?

:)

Obviously you haven't perfected the brown stuff quite yet. I however, manage to cause it to coat the bottom as well as the side of the pan! DH doesn't know how good he has it! Thank God for teflon!

If it's any consolation, my rice--in attempts not to be brown on the bottom--rarely gets soft and fluffy like I enjoy it best. Tricky substance, that stuff.
