His awesome Dad purchased a very cool laser tag set, and a Lego Star Wars computer game. Both were received well enough, but we soon found out what our Bear Grylls enthusiast really wanted:

A "safe" place to practice his fire-building survivor skills. (since his parents did not appreciate the "behind the shed" location)
And, of course, we will be roasting marshmallows tonight.

I want one of those for our backyard but we would first need a burn permit from the fire dept. And to meet the permit requirements we would end up with a gravel pit or cluster of pavers in the middle of our back yard.
I've resigned to roasting marshmallows over a charcoal grill.
Perfect timing for a gift like that! Enjoy the marshamallows.
Wow, yesterday was my oldest son's birthday as well! Hope you guys had as wonderful of a day as we did!
Boys and fires...there is no separating them. It is absolutely the favorite pasttime at our house!
My boys saw this and said, "Wow! A campfire!" Their favorite part of camping.
Also, we love, love, love Lego Star Wars. All the fighting with out all the blood and gore.
Happy Birthday Action Man! Please don't tell The Professor how cool your folks are.
Happy birthday to your action man.
My girls found fire to be quite cool on our recent (and first) campout. It makes me nervous, but I do understand the fascination.
We bought a firepit for my FIL, but something tells me that they will never use it and we will acquire it ;)
